Please tell me that I’m not the only person who scrolls through social media and sees tons of aesthetic study pictures and wonders how in the world do people have their crap together this well?? There were times where I really just could not get myself to finish an assignment even if it felt like I had already been working for 5 hours. If you are feeling the same way right now- don’t worry. I got you. I have tried out basically everything and have compiled a list of the best ways to achieve your school goals. Here are my top tips… you got this!!!

Physical Planner = Productivity

Get. A. Physical. Planner.

I’m not even kidding, this basic hack has made the biggest difference in my study habits. First off, you can get one that is super cute and matches your personality to the tee, or you can check into getting a Customizable Planner like mine from Golden Coil! Second, I don’t know what it is but there is something about putting pen to paper and marking off a task that just brings me so much serotonin.

Make a BOMB Study Playlist

Looking forward to sitting down to do hours worth of assignments does not sound like something super fun tbh. However, when you put on a playlist that you can just vibe with makes time go by so much quicker. My study playlist mostly consists of coffeehouse and acoustic covers of some of my favorite upbeat songs, but you can add literally anything to yours that will get your head in the game and keep you from getting up to go into the other room.

Take a Time-Lapse of You Doing Work

Ok, so this one does sound a little weird but hear me out. This is the most satisfying study hack I have come across. To battle procrastination, I started setting up my phone across from my desk and taking time-lapses of me doing my work. This serves 2 purposes. First, it makes it so that you can’t get distracted by reaching for your phone. Second, when you finish your long study session, you can go back and watch yourself being super productive over the past hour or so… it’s like a mini reward.

Check out the Pomodoro Study Method

This is a newer hack that I’ve found, but it has been a gamechanger. Basically, the concept is that you do work for 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break and then after 4 rounds, take a longer break (20-30 mins.) Just repeat this for as long as you need to in order to get the job done. Here is the online version that I use!

Figure Out When Your Brain is at its Best

First- no judgments… but I am slightly obsessed with waking up early and getting everything done as soon as I can. I totally get liking to sleep in and take it easy in the mornings, but by 10 am, most of the tasks on my to-do list have been checked off. This is because I have found that I am the most productive early in the morning. Find when you are the most productive and form your study schedule around that time.

My Happy Study Space

Make a Study Nook that Makes You Happy

One of my hobbies includes rearranging my room every other day because I am always getting bored of how it looks. However, my desk/study nook area has not been touched in a while because I love the setup. The drawers are organized with books, and pens, and all of my other supplies. Plus, it’s where I keep most of my plants so I find myself wanting to spend more time there since it is surrounded by the things that make me happy!

Getting Organized isn’t easy. Battling Procrastination isn’t easy. But you CAN do it. I promise you can be that Goal-Getter-Pinterest-Instagram-Aesthetic-Vibey-Study-Girl if you put your mind to it. Don’t wait until Monday. Don’t wait until the first of the month, start now. Show the world what you can do because you can!
