This year, restaurants adapted to scary times by coming up with innovative ways to serve customers in a safe and healthy way. I personally feel like every restaurant in the Raleigh-Durham area deserves a big shout out for everything they had to work with this year, but there are a few in particular that deserve a big shout out for continuing to serve with the same amount of spirit, spunk, and flavor that they always have!

Barcelona’s Patatas Bravas

Our first shoutout is Barcelona Wine Bar. It doesn’t get much better than delicious tapas and a gorgeous atmosphere that is perfect for date nights or dinners with friends. If you do find yourself Downtown Raleigh at this delicious spot, be sure to order one of the Patatas Bravas- it’s delish!

Next is Coquette Brasserie. Coquette transformed part of their North Hills parking lot into a covered patio that is complete with white table cloths and planters with flowers. This Gem has been one of my favorites since the first time I visited. My favorite time to drop by is when brunch is being served- I always order the quiche or an omelet. If you are feeling adventurous you can try something fun like the escargot. If you would rather play it safe but still satisfy your taste buds then try either the Croque Madame (Ham and Cheese Open Face Sandwich with an Egg) with a salad.

Vidrio’s Mushroom Ragu

Our third favorite dining in 2020 is no surprise: Vidrio. As our number one pick for December’s 24 Days of Gems, you can be assured that you will not leave Vidrio disappointed. From the moment you step inside and see their gorgeous glass art wall, it’s clear that the dining is going to be an experience you won’t forget. There is something on the Mediterranean inspired menu for everyone. The delicious cuisine is thanks to their chefs, Katsuji Tanabe and Saif Rahman.

Perry’s MIni Martini Trio

Last on our list of best dinings of 2020 is Perry’s Steakhouse. Perry’s managed to open up during the pandemic and has since received great reviews from everyone who has visited. The Texas-based steakhouse serves up some of the best steaks, pork chops, and seafood in the triangle. I won’t lie- I’m definitely a sucker for their brussels sprouts, but how could you not when they’re so crispy and full of flavor? Perry’s is open right across from Crabtree Valley Mall and is the perfect spot for date night or a family celebration.

Like I said before, it would take ages to recognize all of the deserving restaurants of 2020. There are so many unique and delicious spots all around the Triangle. If you are looking for a little bit of inspo or some of our top picks, this is the list for you. You won’t be disappointed with any one of them. Keep these fabulous spots in mind next time you plan a dinner out!
